Codename Clarity

This content is 11 years old. Please, read this page keeping its age in your mind.

Have you ever dealt with Active Directory nested group memberships? Have you ever gone through a whole file server trying to figure out who has real, effective permissions on specific folders?

Does it sounds like “been there, done that” to your ears? Well, me too.

I’ve had to deal with filesystem scans, adapting visual basic scripts, importing huge csv files into access, running scripts against Active Directory, merging databases, performing inner joins, exporting queries in excel and code snippets in VBA.

This was last year’s audit.

This year I want to build a tool based on this experience to generate comprehensive, detailed and automated reports. God knows if I’ll have time and I’ll succeed, but I hope to come up with a nice program!

So welcome, Codename Clarity! Wish you a quick development and a long life!
